Are you a non-native speaker of English in the South Shore area and would like to improve your language skills?

Year-round, we offer private, intensive English classes for individuals and small groups in Pentz, only 15 minutes from Bridgewater and Lunenburg. The LaHave River Ferry is only 1.5km away, providing easy access to our school from both sides of the river.

What makes us different?  We don’t use textbooks - training material is specifically prepared for you and your needs.

Business Groups

Story & Birch also offers intensive English courses to business groups from local companies with non-native English speakers.

For general courses, we review the fundamental grammar required at that level, as well as developing participant vocabulary.  Reading, writing, listening and speaking in English is heavily focused on through reading articles, listening to news reports, presentations, discussions and much, much more.  At the end of the course, we give each participant a feedback report with details about their English level, strengths and development areas.

We can also adapt our group courses to the specific needs of the company and its Business English requirements.

Tuition Fees

Intensive English Training for Locals

Our tuition rate is $15 per hour.

For students who would also like to join us for a meal and conversation practice, we can provide a delicious lunch or dinner.

Tuition fees include: English training, classroom materials, language level assessment and feedback report. Add $4 per meal if you would like lunch or dinner to be included.
